Introduction to the Governing Body
Chair of Governors Welcome:
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Students, Parents and Carers to The Bridge Short Stay School.
It is a privilege to hold the position of Chair of Governors at The Bridge, working with the Board and School Leaders we will do all we can to ensure the school delivers on its mission to change young people’s lives through implementing our 2022 vision, which you can read more about below.
Students attending the bridge have likely had a challenging experience in education to date, The Bridge seeks to eradicate the impact of this in order to put young people in a position to succeed and develop a brighter future. We believe that the past does not defines a young person’s future and as Governors we are proud of the achievements of our students.
As a school that serves only as one part of a student’s educational journey and not the ultimate destination, The Bridge aims to support each student individually, in delivering high quality teaching and learning. This mixed with social, morale and emotional development will ensure we are building happy, healthy, imaginative members of society, who leave school with the skills and qualities to be valuable members of the adult community.
During a student’s time at The Bridge, the team will work with them to get them ready to successfully move on to a longer-term destination; whether that is a return to mainstream education or through alternative pathways to college, apprenticeships or employment.
The Board are delighted with the recent Ofsted inspection were The Bridge was judged to be a “good” school across all areas and know that the team will continue their hard work in providing a good education for all students.
