Real Care

Real Care

As part of our PHSE lessons we have been learning about the impact that drugs and alcohol have on a developing baby.

We have discussed the reasons babies cry and ways in which we can soothe them.

In order to demonstrate, and practise skills, students have been introduced to the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Manikin baby, the Drug Affected Demonstrator baby and the Shaken Baby Simulator baby.

The demonstrations were a very powerful tool which envoked much thought and feeling from the students, which then led to in depth discussions and varied opinions.
